Dermal Filler FAQs
  • What are dermal fillers made of?

The majority of dermal fillers are gel formulations made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that plays a crucial role in retaining moisture in tissues, joints, and eyes. Hyaluronic acid fillers grant instantaneous results and require minimal recovery time.

  • Are dermal fillers permanent?

Dermal fillers are temporary, and the results may last from six months to two years, depending on the type of filler and the area treated.

  • Are dermal filler injection procedure painful?

Patients may experience mild discomfort during the injections, but many fillers contain lidocaine to reduce pain. Additionally, topical anesthetics can be used for added comfort.

  • How long does the procedure take?

The procedure typically takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the areas treated and the number of syringes used. We apply a topical numbing for 25-30 minutes prior to injections to ensure the treatment is as comfortable as possible.

  • What is the recovery like?

Recovery is usually minimal, with possible temporary side effects like swelling, redness, and bruising. Most individuals return to their normal activities immediately following the procedure.
